Okay, Lisa, here is my "What is your favorite . . .?" survey.
1. What is your favorite Bible book?
2. What is your favorite religious book?
3. Who is your favorite Bible character? (other than Jesus)
4. How many plants from the Bible can you name? (thought I would include something a little different)
5. What is your favorite Bible place?
6. What is your favorite Bible event or scene? (e.g. Thomas placing his finger in Jesus' hands and side)
7. What is your favorite Bible text?
No prize for being the seventh one to answer except for the satisfaction of being able to identify your favorite stuff from the Bible.

Leave it to a preacher!
1. Bible book: James (my favorite is usually the one I'm reading at the time)
2. religious book: Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel
3. Bible character: Daniel.
4. palm tree, gopher tree, acacia tree, hyssop (plant?), olive tree, fig tree, sycamore tree, pomegranate (bush?), I'm sure there are more I could think of if I took the time.
5. Bible place: I'm having trouble thinking of a favorite. Maybe I'll get back to this.
6. Bible scene: Jesus speaking with the woman at the well (maybe a bit predictable to choose that)
7. Bible text: also maybe predictable, 1 John.
So are you going to let us know the answers to your questions? I also let Tom know about your survey, so you might get a response from him too.
1. Judges - I believe it shows God's grace more than any other book in the entire Bible.
2. The Witness of Preaching by Thomas Long - this has probably helped me more than any other book on preaching.
3. Gideon - here is a man doubtful about God's using him yet God uses him and a great victory is won.
4. I have trouble with small details like this one. This is why I lose the one game where you have to come up with a list of 10 Bible things - like name 10 animals, 10 plants, etc. . .
5. This is a tough one.
6. My favorite scene is where Jesus invites Thomas to come and touch his hands and side. I hope God has a video room where I can see this one close up.
7. 1John 1:5
Those are my answers.
I thought I answered this but it didn't "take" I don't think so it's a good thing I copied it just in case:
1. John (although I spent more time in Psalms this past year than anywhere else!)
2. Early Christians Speak
3. Peter
4. You've got to be kidding me! Sycamore, mustard, pomegranate, myrrh (that was a plant, right?), Tree of Life, Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, palm, fig, olive, garlic?, wheat, tares, weeds, flax,
5. Jerusalem
6. Just one? Betcha can't name just one! Mary listening at Jesus' feet while Martha bustled about trying to serve Jesus; Peter walking on water and sinking; Jesus washing the disciples' feet; Esther condemning Haman
7. Who can have a favorite? Doesn't it change from day to day? Minute to minute? Philippians 2, Ephesians 1, Romans 8, John 14 are among the ones that come to mind
