I met Matt Dabbs!

Today I hosted our area wide preacher's meeting. Attending was Matt Dabbs. Matt and I met through the blog world back in 2006. We've been visiting each other's blogs and saying we should get together. Well a couple of preachers from the Tampa area have been coming to the meeting and have encouraged Matt to come. Finally he does and we meet. We had a great meeting and what a blessing it was to actually hear Matt's voice and listen to him share out of his spiritual knowledge. Then we got to have lunch together. We all ate at a Mexican place here in Mt. Dora. A great day. Hopefully we will have other opportunities to get to know each other.

That's really cool! Is it the same Mexican restaurant where I ate? Then I can say I ate a restaurant where Matt ate? :o)

Lisa, yes same restaurant.

John, eat your heart out. Did you try out at the Newnan church near Atlanta back in 2006?

Trey, it is!

Hey, I was there too and I can honestly say I was really blessed to finally get to meet you Bob. Toss in Steve Puckett, Bill Williams, Joe Roberts, Eddie Randolph, and Randal Myers and wow what a bunch!

I'm sure it was great meeting someone in person that you've been blog buddies with for years, but could we hear more about the Mexican food.... Only kidding! I sure it was a special time.

Andrea, the guys were amazed at the prices at the restaurant. Considering that most of Mt. Dora is pretty pricey, this place is down right cheap.

Matt, oh yeah those guys were there too. Actually some of you may not know but Bill Williams and I have known each other since 1999. We took a course together at Rochester College. We found out that we were both Sunset School of Preaching grads. Bill ended up preaching about an hour and a half away from me. I always wished we could have spent more time together but alas life is made up of wishes. My mother used to say, "If wishes were horses, we'd all take a ride."

Also we had a family at my congregation in south Jersey that used to worship at Steve Puckett's congregation. Trey, how's that for more amazing brotherhood?!
